The 3 Ways To Change Your Habits

Every day, millions of people around the world set out to achieve big goals, build better habits, and finally change their behavior. The sad reality is, most of them will fail. In fact, research has shown that about 91% of people fail to achieve their New Year’s resolutions and other goals.

According to BJ Fogg, professor and researcher at Stanford University, there is a simple reason for that: Most people just don’t know how to build new habits. In his reasearch, Fogg found that there are only three ways to change behavior long-term:

1. Have an epiphany. Unless you have some kind of magical powers, good luck with that.

2. Use tiny habits. Start so ridiculously small that it almost requires no willpower to stick to your habits.

3. Change your environment. The people and things around us affect more of our decision making than we like to admit, so you need to make sure that they set you up for success.
